Job Hunting

You would think that having a bachelor's degree from an in state institution would be of some help, but apparently it isn't. I have been looking for a job since November 9th, and I have had a handful of interviews - all of which turned up empty. I would say it is disheartening, but I don't think that does the whole situation justice.

It makes me wonder if going to school for 5 years was even worth it? Apparently if I had gone out after high school and gotten a job I would have a better chance of landing something now because at the least I would have experience in the work force. If you don't have 2 years of job quality experience AND a bachelors degree then no one wants to respond to your inquiries, let alone bring you in for an interview or even hire you for that matter.

I HOPE this isn't how things look after getting your masters degree. Obviously you have a much more focused degree which should help tremendously (unlike having a history degree), but still it worries me a little. Maybe I am going about this the wrong way? Maybe I am looking in the wrong places? Who knows - but what I do know is I am running out of money quickly and need to find a revenue stream asap............

  1. Well put.

Now try this on for size...

I graduated with a Bachelors in Business Management and then decided to go right ahead and jump in to graduate school and get my Masters. Well, 'they' say that 4 months is the average amount of time after you graduate to get a job and start your career. Well I got my MBA August 14, today is December 15. FML!
